Repair after rupture

“Creating a whole new generation of emotionally healthy families & classrooms” - Chrissie Davies

Meltdowns and sensory overload a very real part of life for neurodivergent kids. Their intense emotions take over their brains and bodies and in that moment what children need most is a safe space, empathetic educators and an understanding that their brain has gone into survival mode. For children to be able to understand positive ways to stay regulated they need supports and accommodations in their educational setting.

The Professional development-Repair after Rupture will cover:

  • Trauma informed educational practices
  • Neurodivergent brains and sensory overwhelm
  • Teaching and modelling brain care strategies
  • Teaching kids to love and understand their own unique brains
  • The importance of neuro affirming perceptions and language
  • Understanding meltdowns and shutdowns
  • Repair after rupture – why sending kids home doesn’t actually build their capacity for learning
  • The importance of working more collaboratively with families
